Atletico EA
XL & Select Soccer Tryouts
2025-2026 Season
Boys High School Tryout Information
Bellevue United is excited to announce that we have a diversity of competitive soccer programs available to our local community: Atletico EA, XL, and Club Select.
CLUB SELECT is our standard Club program for players interested in playing competitive soccer while also exploring other sports and interests. The season runs September thru December, with Founders Cup matches in January and early February. Players are expected to hold soccer as their primary activity during this time. The teams practice throughout the summer and engage in 1-2 summer tournament to prepare for the Fall league play. Select is the best program for those players who have a strong passion for soccer but wish to play other seasonal sports. Select teams will participate in the North Puget Sound League.
XL is available for those players who wish to play soccer year-round and explore a stronger commitment to soccer. The program begins in Mid-June with summer practices and 2-3 summer tournaments. League play begins in late August and runs through April (with seasons adjusted for boys' and girls' high school players). XL teams play in WPL leagues, most of which are regional to Western Washington though some teams may play in Super League which can take them to Eastern WA for matches. We run the XL program in cooperation with our sister club Mercer Island FC, and practices can be held throughout our two areas.
ATLETICO EA/E64 is the culmination of top players coming through Atletico and other programs to compete on the National EA and E64 leagues, which require some light travel for league play and the airplane travel for 2-3 showcases per year. Players on these teams are typically on track to play in college or in development programs beyond high school. Play is continuous for 11 months and might include a weekend playoff match or showcase event that overlaps with the High School season.
FEBRUARY TRYOUTS (Boys U16-U19) REGISTRATION LINK
TRYOUT STRUCTURE:
Each age group takes place over a two-day period in February and will run 90 minutes each day. We encourage all players to attend both days of tryouts. This gives our coaches and observers the maximum opportunity to evaluate the players to best determine placement on a team.
Tryouts for Atletico EA/E64 will be held the week of February 24 for the 2007/08, 2009, and 2010 age groups.
Tryouts for XL and Select will also be held the week of February 24, one day after the Atletico tryouts.
REGISTRATION:
Registration for tryouts will be online only to avoid crowding at the arrival area to the best of the club's ability. Registration for Bellevue United FC is $25.00.
CHECK IN PROCESS:
We ask that all players do their best to arrive 15 minutes early to check in each day. Each player will receive a pinnie on the first day, to wear during tryouts. Players will keep their pinnie and turn it in at the end of the second day of tryouts. If a player can only attend one day of tryouts, they will return the pinnie at the end of that day. Players will be identified by the number on their pinnie, this will be used as notification of roster placement as well.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Players should wear appropriate soccer footwear, shin guards and bring their own water bottle and ball.
TRYOUT FORMAT:
Players will be placed in age groups and will run through a series of drills, scrimmages and other technical sessions. Players will often be moved around in order to maximize assessment from the broader coaching staff.
PLAYER SELECTION:
Coaches will determine their preferred rosters following the final day of tryouts for each age group. Selected players for each roster will be posted using the number from their pinnie. Players are expected to accept or decline their offer via Sports Connect within 24 hours of email notification. If a player's number is not listed, he/she was not selected for a current team and the club will be in touch to discuss alternative options.
Some coaches may choose to list alternate pinnie numbers for players who may be offered a roster spot in the event a player declines an offer.
SPECTATING:
There will be NO spectating allowed during tryouts. Parents, lease drop off and pick up only.
TRYOUT SCHEDULE
Tryouts are held rain or shine.
